Four Dead, Two Injured in Kyenjojo Accident

Four people have been killed in a road accident along the Kampala-Fort Portal highway.
The accident happened on Thursday morning at Kiregesa Village, Kyenjojo District. It involved a FUSO Truck registration number UBG 923T carrying Matooke from Bunyangabu District heading to Kampala, which collided with a Congolese, trailer Reg No: 13O9AF19 /1310AE19, that was coming from Kampala.
Vincent Twesige the Rwenzori Police spokesperson said that four people died on spot, while two were admitted at Kyenjojo General Hospital.
The dead have been identified as Muhuhammed Kasozi who was the driver of the Fuso and a resident of Masaka, Aziz Abdallah from Sheema District, Brian Mukasa from Bunyangabu district, and Mathias Tumusiime who were travelling in the Fuso.
The Injured who were rushed to Kyenjojo District are Henry Kambale Mubala, the driver of the trailer, and his turnboy, whose particulars are yet to be established.
The Fort Portal-Kampala highway is prone to accidents and according to the police records at the Regional Police Headquarters, more than 20 people have been killed in accidents in two years. The accidents are blamed on speeding, reckless driving.
