Masindi Health Center in-charge, two others arrested over missing government mosquito nets
Police in Masindi District have arrested the in-charge of Kigezi Health Centre III, security guard and one of the nurses to help them to carry investigations on missing 10 bales of government mosquito nets.
Each mosquito net bale contains 40 mosquito nets. Kigezi Health Center III is located in Mirya Sub County, Buruli County Masindi district.
Sanon Dhaala, the deputy resident district commissioner for Masindi, told our reporter this morning that the suspects whose identities have been concealed are behind bars at Masindi Central Police Station pending investigations.
Government is again undertaking a nation campaign to distribute mosquito nets across the country to fight Malaria.
Currently Masindi District health department in conjunction with the officials from the Minstry of Health are conducting training for different stakeholders, including VHTs, LC1 Chairpersons, and others, who will implement the exercise of mosquito net distribution, slated for Saturday 16th December 2023.
Masindi district received 611 bales of mosquito nets from the Ministry of Health worth 24,440 mosquito nets.
