VICTORIA UNIVERSITY SEALS FINANCING SCHEME FOR STUDENTS.

Victoria University remains one of the best private universities in Uganda as it continues to reach greater heights, after being cleared and given a charter by the National council for higher education and signed by the president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the university has moved on and signed a loan scheme Memorandum of Understanding with the Higher Education Students’ Financing Board (HESFB) which is aimed at rescuing students with disabilities and other science students that are not capeble with paying tuition.
The 2014 founded body (HEFSB) MoU with Victoria University signed on September 19, 2022 at Victoria University Main Campus aimed at improving learning standards science students and disability students with providing financial loans to the students marked the 22 university in Uganda to sign such MoU.

At the event, Mr. Micheal Wanyama the Executive Director Students Higher Education Financing Students’ Board congratulated students and the University at large upon reaching the step and ugued students never to drop there studies due to lack of tuition because the MoU is signed to solve such probl.
Wanyama continues and thanked the university leading board for working hard so as they acquired a charter that has brought them this far and promised to provide and it needs so that he can see a number of students graduate
Mr. Wanyama also ugued parents and gardians never to fear to help the children to apply because the loans don’t have any kind of security that there properties could be taken due to failure of paying back. “The loans only need a national identification card or any other cards, a birth certification and a drawn map to the students origin and current location ” said Wanyama.

Dr. Lawrence Muganga the University Vice Chancellor said that they have embraced the Students Loan Scheme to continue helping students, who are looking for high quality and affordable education in the country,
“At Victoria University, we offer hands-on, technology-based education and applied research which are essential to the productivity and prosperity of the country and the region. We always strive to ensure that our graduates have the knowledge, skills, and competencies employers want. Our graduates leave Victoria University with soft skills, quality degrees, confidence, prepared, and in demand. The Students Loan Scheme, will in effect, help move students access this quality of education and
I am glad that HESFB has picked interest in taking on our students to benefit from the Government Students Loan scheme. This will see more students apply and complete studies now,” Muganga said.
Prof. Muganga however explained that the Students Loan Scheme is privileged for students enrolled for science-technology-engineering and mathematics courses and the tourism & hospitality program only with proof that they cannot fund their tuition.

Mr. Bob Nuwagaba, the head of public relations at HESFB says the loan is payable after one has finished the course in a three-year period, plus an additional year for the grace period. This means one has six to eight years to finance his/her loan to full payment.
He once again assured the students that there is no security needed or asked for to get the loans but only a few requirements such as a national ID, academic certificate for the UACE and UCE, a map of your current and home location to be eligible for the loan.
