On Monday evening, one of the pipes going through Seeta town bust as it was being flashed leading to flooding. Water gushed from underground damaging a number of properties bringing business to a halt. The bust water pipe is found at a point where engineers had planned to release the flashed water into a drainage channel.
However, the pressure busted the pipe forcing water into different directions.
Although the engineers, later managed to stop the running water, merchandise displayed outside and inside Florida supermarket was destroyed.
The water also destroyed property in over 30 houses and flooded Gongobe community access road. William Kunya, one of the residents wonders why the engineers chose to set up a water flashpoint in a residential area as opposed to a swamp.
