Mechanic shot in Gen Katumba attack

A-26-year-old man was yesterday shot in the right leg during the attempted assassination of outgoing Minister of Works and Transport Gen Katumba Wamala.

Unknown assailants yesterday shot at a car carrying Gen Katumba wounding him and killing his daughter and driver.A mechanic, only identified as Mr Kibalama, was also injured in the attack.
At the time of the shooting, Mr Kibalama was working in a battery workshop, a few metres away from where Gen Katumba was attacked.

 

He said Kibalama was bleeding profusely but had to wait until the shooting stopped before seeking help.He said when he established that Gen Katumba was being ferried to a nearby clinic by a motorcycles, he also booked another motorcycles for his injured worker and followed the general.
